This is IRONMAN!
April 24, 2008
Here is another work in progress that I hope to have finished before the movie is released. The final illustration will show him from the waste up. I started this piece about a week ago and have about 5 hours in on just the face. I’m very pleased with the results so far. This piece has really helped push my development in Adobe Illustrator. I’ve been using a few new techniques to shade and highlight that are bringing a more realistic feel to the piece. Hopefully the rest of the image comes out the same way. – S

Latest work for Berendse Painting
April 23, 2008
The crew over at Berendse Painting thought it was time for a revamp of their existing logo and asked me to see what I could come up with. Nothing to fancy, just new and clean. This is the final version that was chosen and sent to print.
I’ve also been illustrating their “Home Show” mailer and banner for the past few years and thought I’d share with you what the series looks like thus far. He’s supposed to look like he’s horribly painting the house himself instead of kickin’ it on vacation with his family.- S

Cylon Tyranny
April 16, 2008
Ok, so for about the last month or so I’ve been pretty geeked-out over Battlestar Galactica. What, with the final season of the new series beginning and all it’s hard not to be. I’ve even gone back and started watching them all from the very beginning. However, growing up I was a huge fan of the original TV series. I had everything from Cylon action figures to Colonial starships and that was back when they shot out those little red pellets. think I actually swallowed 2 or 3 of those. I know, I know… Nerd right!
Anyway, a few weeks ago I was looking at my boy Josh’s blog over at Hydro74.com and saw that he was a fan as well and had created an awesome Cylon illustration. Seeing this got me even more into the “Galactic” spirit so I started on an illustration of my own. Even though I’m not quit done with the final image I wanted to show you what I have been playing around with so far. The final image will have an old “chrome” cylon facing off with a new “metal” cylon. Everything has been created in Adobe Illustrator. Hope ya like – S

Las Vegas Fortune
April 15, 2008
Here are some pics of a game board that I designed and illustrated awhile back. The design elements included: logo, game board, box, playing cards, property cards, money (chips), instruction sheet, etc. Not to mention the 160+ custom vector graphics. The pay sucked but the final product came out amazing. The quality is equal (if not better) to most of the special edition board games that are on the market now. The game itself is OK. It’s like playing a Las Vegas edition of Monolopy. For more info check out LVFortune.com. Website not created by ShanesArt. Enjoy – S
