Some hand drawn lettering

September 25, 2008

Just wanted to share some of my latest hand drawn type treatments. I’ve been asked to come up with a lot of “tattoo style” lettering lately and these are a few of the sketches that I come up with. I actually really like to do these. It’s an easy way to experiment with different looks before you start to vector them out. Plus, you can do this anywhere and don’t have to be sitting in front of your computer the whole time. It also takes me back to high school when everyone would ask me to draw on their books or write on their jeans. Enjoy – S

Another Skull

September 17, 2008

Here is a vector render of one of the skulls that I’ve sketched out lately. I wanted to showcase all of the different stages that the illustration went through. From rough to detailed sketch to vector. Enjoy – S

Skulls, Skulls & more Skulls

September 12, 2008

Kinda crazy. It seems that every time I open up my sketchbook the first thing I start to draw is a skull. Here are a few of my random skull sketches that I’ve thrown together for you to see. I’ll be coloring & posting some of them here in the next week or so. Hope ya like – S

Busy, busy!

September 8, 2008

Sorry for the lack of posts this past month but I’ve been pretty busy with the ShanesArt site revamp, a few tattoo lettering designs, some logos, possible artwork for some “Supra” kicks via “Josh” over at Hydro74, as well as getting together a few of my own artwork pieces to be sold threw Skinnis.com in the next few weeks. Not to mention all the designs for my day job. I’ll post more on Skinnis when their site goes live.

Anyhow, this weekend I was playing around with some textures in Photoshop and thought that I would add them to a sketch that I had done earlier in the week. Here it is enjoy – S
